The Dinners-Food Sovereignty

A community based event with speakers from across Turtle Island. As a guest, you will also experience land-based learning, hands on workshops and foraging. We will honour Truth and Reconciliation Day in the best way possible, with a demonstrative community gathering featuring drumming, singing, jiggling, fiddling, dancing, an artisan walk and community BBQ feast. And, if you can fit it in, a round of golf on our championship golf course.

The pinnacle of the event, is The Dinner-an Intentional, multi-course culinary experience. The Dinner is thoughtfully curated by your host , Chef Tammy Maki R.S.E., of White Bear First Nation and owner of Wo Nagi Culinary & Consulting, alongside your invited co-host, Chef Jenni Lessard, of the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan and owner of Inspired by Nature Culinary Consulting. This event is thanks in part to our Food Sovereignty Partner, Arrell Food Institute at the University of Guelph. Our featured protein will be Bison.

This gathering is designed as a relational space where policy, practice, culture, and community meet at the table.

Specific protocols will be in place for the duration and literature will be provided prior to the event.

We are happy to accommodate vegetarian or gluten-free allergies.
